An ode to one of my favorite flowers and one of my favorite word combinations, the pigments in this piece were made by hand. Some of them are from plants in my garden or from foraged materials, others from purchased powdered pigments. The sides of the panel are painted so that the piece doesn’t need to be framed.

Handmade natural inks (Cochineal, Purple Pincushion, Safflower and Cosmos) on handwoven Arches watercolor paper, acrylic paint on panel.
