Rosa de Jamaica

$125.00

Named for one of my favorite traditional Guatemalan beverages (chilled hibiscus tea), the pigments in this piece were made by hand. Some of them are from plants in my garden or from foraged materials, others from purchased powdered pigments. The sides of the panel are painted so that the piece doesn’t need to be framed.

Handmade natural Cochineal, Cosmos and Safflower inks on handwoven Arches watercolor paper, acrylic paint on panel.

12” x 6”

Completed in 2023 by Brielle DuFlon.
